Hospital district enters negotiations with CEO candidate

Lewis County Hospital District No. 1, doing business as Arbor Health in east Lewis County, has offered the district’s superintendent/chief executive officer position to Kyle Kellum of Valentine, Neb.

The board is currently negotiating with Kellum to finalize the offer.

Kellum is currently CEO for Cherry County Hospital and Clinics in Valentine. He visited the Arbor Health facilities and met the staff during the first week of December. He and his family formerly lived in Washington State and are looking forward to returning.

Board chair Tom Herrin reports that the board intends to officially appoint Kellum on Jan. 25, 2023, contingent on having finalized the negotiations and a signed agreement.

Current Superintendent/CEO Leianne Everett of Morton gave her notice in June. She worked for the hospital district since February of 2016.

Arbor Health is the parent organization of Morton Hospital, the Rapid Care Clinic in Morton and primary care clinics in Morton, Mossyrock and Randle as well as the future Arbor Health — Packwood Clinic.
