Marisa Bass of Eatonville High School will compete in this year’s district high school girls swimming and diving meet, thanks to her district-qualifying times in the 200 and 50 freestyle events during the Cruisers’ Nisqually League meet against Steilacoom Sept. 27.
Her team lost 129-51, but she won the 200 in 2:25.87, just under the qualifying standard of 2:26.0.
Eatonville’s other event winner was Hailey Latherow in the 200 individual medley in 2:58.01. Latherow also finished second in the 100 butterfly and the 500 freestyle, respectively.
Bass and Latherow also were part of second-place relay teams – with Julianne Golding and Alana Hall in the 200 freestyle, and with Hall and Marcella Huse in the 400 freestyle.
