The bodies of three people recovered this week from Mount Rainier have been identified as half of the victims of a climbing accident in May.
The Pierce County medical examiner announced Friday that the three are Mark Mahaney, 26, of St. Paul, Minn., Uday Marty, 40, an Intel Corp. executive for the company in southeast Asia, and John Mullally, 40, of Seattle.
A Mount Rainier National Park spokeswoman said the bodies were spotted on Aug. 7 during a training flight in the area and were recovered Aug. 19.
Park officials said the bodies became visible as a result of recent warm weather that melted ice and snows.
There still were no signs last week of the other missing climbers.
