Traffic disruptions are expected as state Department of Transportation maintenance crews repair the pavement next week on two state highways in the south Pierce County area.
A DOT spokesman said chip seal projects are scheduled for portions of State Routes 7 and 702. Motorists should be prepared for related traffic congestion and delays during the work, which is set for:
• Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on a half-mile section of State Route 7 north of Stringtown Road East, near Silver Lake. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
• Aug. 12 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on a half-mile of State Route 702 west of SR-7. Flaggers will provide traffic control at the intersection of SR-702, SR-7 and Eatonville Cutoff Road (352nd Street East). Drivers can expect up to 10-minute delays, the DOT spokesman said.
• Aug. 13 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on SR-702 from 48th Avenue South to 64th Avenue South, east of McKenna. drivers will see one-way alternating traffic for a one-mile segment.
• Aug. 15 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on about a half-mile of SR-702 from 24th Avenue Court South to 16th Avenue Court South, east of McKenna.
