Ally Banks, an Eatonville High School senior, has finished her high school equestrian career as a state champion.
Banks and her horse, Oscar, won the stock seat equestrian event at the Washington High School Equestrian Team state finals in Moses Lake May 17-19.
Banks, who has ridden Oscar the last six years, reached the state meet four years in a row, starting as a freshman. She qualified this year with high finishes in three district meets, competing in showmanship, trail, stock seat and in-hand obstacle relay. The latter is a team event.
She started showing horses when she was 6 years old in 4-H. Her first horse, Banjo, still roams the pasture at her family’s home.
Banks will graduate from Eatonville High in June and is pursuing a career as a 9-1-1 dispatcher.
