Braves no. 2 in relay

Bethel streaked to a second-place finish in the girls’ 4×100 relay in the class 4A high school state track and field championships.
The Braves’ Erica Hamlin, Katreeona Williams-Mac, Kiana Chandler and sophomore Meosha Mack, who ran the anchor leg, were clocked in 48.25 seconds, behind only the 47.85 seconds by Federal Way.
Among other local competitors in the meet staged May 24-25 at Mount Tahoma High School, Graham-Kapowsin’s best finish was seventh by Kyle Madsen in the boys’ shot put, at 50 feet 5 inches.
Three other Bethel competitors recorded top-10 finishes – Breaunna Fontenette, who plcaed fifth in the girls’ 200 in 25.65 seconds, Kasie Lough, ninth in the girls’ shot at 37 feet 5 inches, and Noah Bales, a sophomore who was 10th in the boys’ high jump at 6 feet 2 inches.
