The First Citizens Bank branch in Eatonville will close in July, one of four such actions the bank is taking at four locations in Washington.
Barbara Thompson, a spokeswoman for First Citizens at its headquarters in Raleigh, N.C., said Monday that July 8 will be the last day of business for the branch located on Washington Avenue in Eatonville. She said the closure is a result of ongoing evaluations of operations at all of its branches nationwide.
“It’s purely a business decision,” she said.
Some of the employees in Eatonville will be reassigned to other First Citizens offices. Those that aren’t immediately retained will be able to apply for other positions with the company, Thompson said.
Three other branches in Washington that will close the same week as the one in Eatonville, and for similar reasons, are in Olympia, Redmond and Centralia, according to Thompson.
