The Nisqually League high school basketball doubleheader at Eatonville High School Jan. 11 between the Cruisers and Seattle Christian was doubly successful for the hosts – and also highly thrilling in the boys’ contest.
The latter was won by Eatonville 52-50 in overtime, setting off a celebration at midcourt by fans who streamed out of the bleachers and joined their team in the high-spirited moment.
The Cruisers were led by three double-digit scorers, topped by Josh Bennett’s 14 points. Brendan Davis and Zach Fairhart contributed 12 and 10, respectively.
In the girls’ game, Eatonville steamed to a 65-46 victory. Eatonville got 19 points from Hailey Latherow, 15 from Kaelyn Voss and 14 from Kayley Bass.
