A pattern for Eatonville High School’s football team – high-scoring starts and insurmountable halftime leads – continued last Friday in what so far is a perfect Nisqually League campaign.

The Cruisers, making the long trek to the Olympic Peninsula to play on Chimacum’s turf, rang up 21 points in the first quarter and a 35-0 halftime advantage en route to a 42-7 shellacking of the Cowboys.

The fifth-consecutive victory was also the third in as many tries against Nisqually foes, keeping Eatonville in a three-way tie for the league lead at 3-0 with defending champion Cascade Christian and Wright.

The rout of Chimacum (2-2 in the Nisqually, 2-4 overall) was similar to a 49-6 victory over Bow Lake the week before, when the Cruisers led 35-0 and 49-0 after the first two quarters.
